HSC was founded over 30 years ago by Peter Downey, who recognised a need for specialised hydraulic consulting services in New Zealand.
Peter, having worked on many major projects in Australia as a “Hydraulic Consultant”, recognised that while there were Building Services Engineers in New Zealand, they required the specialised knowledge along with expertise in the field of plumbing and gas fitting.
With this insight, HSC was founded to fill the information space and solve the problems of lack of detailed information and accuracy in plumbing and gas fitting designs.
Over the years, HSC has expanded its expertise, introducing Mechanical and Electrical services among others, to offer a comprehensive suite of engineering solutions.
With over 30 years of experience, and counting, HSC has built a reputation for providing exceptional quality and unparalleled customer service.

HSC has an enviable portfolio of successfully completed projects across Auckland and other centres in New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. We estimate that HSC has been involved in the design of over 75% of all the high-rise apartment buildings completed in Auckland over the past two decades.
