HSCNZL ARE NZ'S LEADING HYDRAULIC DESIGN CONSULTANCY. THROUGH OUR INTERACTION WITH THE PLUMBING TRADE, WE BELIEVE PLUMBERS ARE READY TO EMBRACE A COURSE OUTLINING THE FUNDAMENTALS OF GOOD ESTIMATING AND TENDERING.

This course is intended to introduce plumbing tradespersons to the science (or art) of estimating various sections of plumbing works.


By the end of the course, participants will be able to:-


 i.      Understand how to accurately takeoff and measure the various sub-disciplines within the plumbing field.

ii.    Enter the take-off items as line items into Fergus Job Management Software (principles demonstrated on Fergus are transferrable to Simpro)

iii.     Apply accurate material and labour rates to these takeoffs.

iv.    Understand overhead and profit and accurately apply both to the estimate.

v.    Adjudicate and present a tender.

  1. vi.    Return a priced Schedule of Quantities back to the main Contractor.

The course is all about leaning how to estimate and tender a small plumbing project, creating and

using “Favourites” within Fergus. Skills leant on this project will be transferable Simpro and to a project of any

size. Purely for demonstration purposes, you will be provided with a trial account of Fergus, preloaded with some Favourites (similar to Simpro Pre-builds)

and enough background data to be able to progress the estimate using any software.
